While some celebrities have gotten married (and broken up) more times than we can count, others have yet to put a ring on the one or are just not cut out for marriage. So while these A-listers could afford to put on the most banging wedding bashes of the century - filled with beautiful dresses, unbelievable flower arrangments, and stunning souvenirs - they have chosen not to. Here's why these Hollywood stars are saying no to walking down the aisle.
Shakira
Shakira had a 12-year relationship with soccer player Gerard Pique, and the couple has two children. But the Colombian singer's world fell apart when it was revealed the Barcelona F.C. star had been leading a double life, filled with debauched parties and women. Shakira wants to take their children Milan and Sasha to live in Miami, but he is determined to keep them in Barcelona. At the time of this article's writing, they continue to fight over custody.
The two never married, perhaps because, in 2002, she told The Guardian, "The truth is I'm more afraid of marriage than death."
Tyra Banks
Despite dating Will Smith, whom she met on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air set, Boyz N the Hood director John Singleton, musicians Seal and Drake, NBA player Chris Webber, and businessman John Utendahl, Tyra Banks has never walked down the aisle. In 2016, Banks had a biological son born via surrogacy with her then-boyfriend, Norwegian photographer Erik Asla. However, they split after a five-year relationship in 2017.
The American Top Model and talk show host is reported to be very happy with Canadian businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin. Sorry, guys!
Marisa Tomei
Actress Marisa Tomei, A.K.A Peter Parker's Aunt May, has never tied the knot. She's dated Lenny Kravitz, Robert Downey Jr., Christian Slater, and Logan Marshall-Green, but none of them ever got down on one knee. In an interview with Inquisitr magazine, she said, "I'm not that big a fan of marriage as an institution, and I don't know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings."
The gorgeous actress is currently not seeing anyone. So, this might be your chance if you fancy a shot at being her Uncle Ben.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Baby-faced Hollywood heartthrob Leo has been linked to a bevy of stunning young supermodels despite fast approaching 50! For the most part, the actor likes to keep an average 15-year age gap with his partners. He's most recently made headlines for calling it quits with model Camila Morrone. The pair started dating in 2017 and ended things shortly before her 25th birthday. He's also been connected to the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Rihanna.

English actor Henry Cavill is famous for playing Superman and going toe-to-toe with Tom Cruise on celluloid. Tying him down to a commitment also sounds like a bit of a Mission Impossible! Among the lucky women to get close are Kaley Cuoco, Gina Carano, and Alexandra Daddario, making him just as lucky! Nowadays, he's dating Natalie Viscuso, who is the Vice President of Television and Digital Studios at Legendary Entertainment.
The couple has one huge thing in common. Superman hails from the doomed planet Krypton, while Natalie is originally from Roswell, New Mexico. So, maybe they found each other on a crashed alien spacecraft!
Rihanna
Multi-Grammy winner Rihanna has never taken a husband, but she has dated quite a few famous fellas. In the past, she's been with musicians Drake, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, and Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel. She's also been seen in the arm of actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, and Ryan Phillippe. Plus sportsmen Rashard Lewis, Matt Kemp, and J.R. Smith. But by 2020, she seemed to have settled down with one lucky man.
He is rapper and record producer, A$AP Rocky. The two got married in his May 2022 music video "D.M.B." and welcomed a baby IRL soon after. But the power couple has yet to speak out on whether they plan on tying the knot.
Allison Janney
Mom and West Wing actress Allison Janney was engaged to actor Richard Jenik between 2004 and 2006. But in a conversation with Women’s Health Magazine in 2005—the same year they were due to wed—she admitted, “I used to have a recurring dream that I would marry a man and, right after the ceremony, they’d turn into somebody completely different… So, you could say I’ve had some fears about it.”
By 2016, she'd made her mind up. She told an E! News interviewer she does not believe in the institution of marriage. Who out there thinks they might change her mind?
Mindy Kaling
If you think Mindy never found her Mork, the award-winning actress, comedian, writer, producer, and director has proved you don't need to venture down the traditional path to find happiness. She has a daughter, Katherine, and a son, Spencer, but the proud single mom has never revealed who the father is. Many of her fans believe the father to be The Office star B. J. Novak, but Kaling has not confirmed.
Mindy told Good Housekeeping, “I don’t need anyone to take care of my needs and desires. I can take care of them myself now.” Way to go, girl!
Winona Ryder
Winona Ryder has been a household name since Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988). She was engaged to Johnny Depp for three years and also dated Soul Asylum singer Dave Pirner and Jason Bourne actor Matt Damon. The Stranger Things star has been in a relationship with fashion designer Scott Hahn since 2011, but they have absolutely zero plans to marry. She blames not wanting to tie the knot on her parents.
The actress once told Net-A-Porter, “I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times…When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high.” Awww, bless.
Jared Leto
Half the planet seems to love Jared Leto, while the other half ridicules him. And speaking of other halves, it doesn’t look like this Joker will find his Harley Quinn any time soon. That said, the actor and 30 Seconds to Mars lead singer hasn’t sworn off marriage just yet. In 2016, he told Rolling Stone Magazine, “It’s just how things are. I don’t think it’s a definitive decision that I’ve made.”
That said, Jared Leto's exes include actresses Scarlett Johansson and Cameron Diaz, plus singers Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.
Chris Evans
Amazingly, Captain America is still one of the world's most eligible bachelors. And that's doubly surprising since in Avengers: Endgame, it was revealed that he possessed "America's Ass." He has dated Traci Kochendorfer Shoop, Lizzo, Lily James, Jenny Slate, Lucy Pinder, Christina Ricci, Minka Kelly, and Jessica Biel. And he's also rumored to have dated Elizabeth Olsen and Sandra Bullock. But none of them were good enough to be his Peggy Carter, so Chris Evans remains unmarried.
He told Hollywood Reporter in 2019, "I'm the one who feels enveloped… If I'm with someone who just kind of adopts my life, that can feel a bit suffocating," He's rumored to be currently dating Portuguese actress Alba Baptiste.
Kristin Davis
Her Sex and the City character, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, might have been married twice, but Kristin Davis is less bothered. Over the years, she's dated Aaron Sorkin, Alec Baldwin, Damian Lewis, Jeff Goldblum, and Liev Schreiber. He's also dated models Tyra Banks, Blac Chyna, and Catya Washington, dancer Maliah Michel, actresses Zoe Kravitz and Dollicia Bryan, plus tennis ace Serena Williams. Oh, and Rihanna. He's also rumored to have been with half the gorgeous girls on the block, including J-Lo!
In 2021, French painter, former model, and adult film star Sophie Brussaux gave birth to Drake's son, the aptly-named Adonis. Despite all those single ladies, no one has put a ring on it.
Charlize Theron
Until recently, South African actress Charlize Theron may have been the most eligible bachelorette out there. In April 2019, she told Entertainment Tonight, "Someone just needs to grow a pair and step up. I'm shockingly available." Then, in October 2019, she confessed to Glamour magazine, "I haven't been in a relationship for a very long time. I never wanted to get married." That said, you're too late if you want to take a shot.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress is rumored to have gotten back together with her ex Gabriel Aubry who had previously dated Halle Berry and Kim Kardashian. But they haven't put a ring on it.
Matthew Perry
One of the many reasons Friends was so popular is because we could all see ourselves in one of the characters and fancied one of them! Of the male characters, the options were hunky but dumb Joey, nerdy but safe Ross, and hilarious but insecure Chandler Bing. But what became of the loveable actor who played him? Well, he dated Lauren Graham, Julia Roberts, Lizzy Caplan, and Chandler's biggest crush, Yasmine Bleeth.
Matthew Perry has had his ups and downs. But having turned his life around, in 2020, he got engaged to 29-year-old talent manager and producer Molly Hurwitz only for them to break up not long after.

The Texan singer and actress admits she "hates" dating and gets "weirded out" by the idea that people can Google her to find out everything about her before meeting. So, if you're lucky enough to date Selena, don't Google her first!
Diane Keaton
Star of Woody Allen’s films, Diane Keaton, dated the famous/infamous director for four years between 1968 and 1972. But she faired better with a 20-year relationship with Al Pacino after they met at a casting meeting for The Godfather (1972). She later found time to date Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, and Keanu Reeves. Nowadays, the talented star admits she hasn’t even had a date in 35 years! Any takers?
When asked if she regrets never marrying, she replied: “I don’t think about it a lot, but I’m aware of the fact that I’m unusual in that regard, and maybe I did miss out on something—but then, nobody can have everything, right? I’m not unhappy.”
Oprah Winfrey
Although talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey has been with author, businessman, and public speaker Stedman Graham since the 1980s, the couple has never tied the knot. She explains: "In 1993, the moment after I said yes to his proposal, I had doubts. I realized I didn't actually want a marriage. I wanted to be asked," and added that she thought he was a bit of a player!
The two have been in a 'spiritual marriage' ever since, yet in the January 2020 edition of O, The Oprah Magazine, she explained, "He and I agree that had we tied the marital knot, we would not still be together."
Keanu Reeves
Seriously, who doesn't want to be with Keanu Reeves? His long dating history includes Winona Ryder, Claire Forlani, and Sofia Coppola. But sadly, his love life has been tragic. He and Jennifer Syme were about to become parents when their daughter, Ava, was stillborn in January 2000. Their relationship couldn't withstand the grief of losing their child, and they split up weeks later. Just a year later, Jennifer died in a car accident.
More recently, Keanu and long-term girlfriend Alexandra Grant stepped out on the red carpet together at his John Wick: Chapter 3 premiere in 2017. However, since Keanu is such a private soul, we may never know if he plans to marry.
Lil Nas X
Did you know that the world's most flamboyant rapper, Lil Nas X, aka Montero Lamar Hill, got together with someone from one of his videos? No, silly, not Billy Ray Cyrus from the "Old Town Road" video, but Colombian male model Yai Ariza from the "That's What I Want" video. In the steamy clip, Lil Nas X plays a football star who has a secret relationship with one of his teammates.
They dated for a while but split up in 2021. Lil Nas X said he wanted to concentrate on his music but didn't rule out the idea of them dating again in the future.
Emma Watson
Emma Watson also rocketed to fame in the Harry Potter films. She dated Francis Boulle in 2008, but he called it off as he didn't want to be known as "the boyfriend of some child actress." Since then, she's dated musicians, fellow students, fellow actors, and businessmen. But she admits, "Anyone I get photographed with is automatically my boyfriend. So it just makes it look as if I've had, like, 6,000 boyfriends."
At one point, Emma insinuated that she's given up men and described herself as being "self-partnered." If you think that gives you a shot, the secretive actress is rumored to have settled down with American businessman Leo Robinton.
Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow has been engaged three times but has never gone through with it. Many moons ago, she dated Eric Clapton. She dedicated her song "Safe and Sound" from the album C'mon, C'mon to then-boyfriend Owen Wilson, but it sounds like she was wrong! She was also engaged to disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong while battling breast cancer. In her 50s, she adopted sons Wyatt and Levi in 2007 and 2010.
While she's a happy single mom, the country-rock songstress says, "I would love to get married. But I don't think it's the end-all, be-all."
Robert Pattinson
English actor Robert Pattinson first played Oliver Wood in the Harry Potter films before vamping it up as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise. Then, he donned the cape to play Batman. And just like Bruce Wayne, he's never married; but he did come close. After dating Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, he was engaged to multi-talented English singer FKA Twigs, but they called off their engagement in late 2017.
However, if you thought you were in with a shot of becoming his Catwoman (or Robin), you're out of luck. Since 2018, he has been dating English model, actress, and singer Suki Waterhouse.
Al Pacino
Although he's been linked to several Hollywood leading ladies, including Diane Keaton, Beverly D'Angelo, Penelope Ann Miller, and Kathleen Quinlan, this veteran of stage and screen has never taken a wife. But even though he's in his 80s, he's still got time to court a lady! He's been seeing Noor Alfallah since 2020. She is 53 years his junior, and he's not the only older guy she's been linked to!
She is rumored to have hooked up with Clint Eastwood and Mick Jagger before getting together with The Godfather and Scarface actor.
Michael B. Jordan
If the name Michael Jordan only conjures visions of the basketball player, make way for another hero. Michael B. Jordan played Killmonger in Black Panther and is rumored to be playing the first African American Superman in an HBO series about Val-Zod Superman from an alternate dimension, Earth 2. The handsome actor is rumored to have dated Kendall Jenner, Black Panther co-star Lupita Nyong'o, actress KiKi Layne, model Cindy Bruna, and Swedish musician Snoh Aalegra.

Ricky Gervais
Behind every great man is a great woman, and that's defo true of everyone's favorite British comedian, Ricky Gervais. Yet even though he's been with Jane Fallon for 32 years, he's not planning to 'make an honest woman out of her!' On the David Letterman Show, Ricky admitted, "I don't think there's any point to us getting married. We don't want any more toasters; we never want our families to meet. That'd be terrible."
Ricky and Jane seemingly have a good relationship, proven by the fact that they can laugh at each other. He often trolls Jane with hilarious (borderline mean) tweets poking fun at her.
Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hiddleston is most famous for playing Loki in the Thor franchise and other Marvel films. But in real life, Tom is nothing like his Norse trickster god. He's the perfect gentleman and a shy, humble philanthropist. But like Loki, he is also funny as hell and great at impressions. He was in a long-term relationship with English actress Susannah Fielding between 2008 to 2011. In 2016, the lucky boy briefly dated American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
In March 2022, Tom announced his engagement to another English actress, Zawe Ashton, whom he starred with in the 2019 Broadway play Betrayal. They are currently engaged and expecting their first baby. Sorry, ladies!
Seth MacFarlane
Although he's the brains behind Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane is still happily living the single life. That said, the funnyman is famously private about his relationships but has been linked to Eliza Dushku, Amanda Bynes, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clark. Back in 2013, he told Parade he's: "wide-open to getting married" but added that dating actors is hard work: "You end up sharing that person with this other mistress that is their career."
That said, Seth doesn't have to spend lonely nights cuddling Ted. Going against his own advice, he recently started dating actress Anne Winters after she joined his Star Trek parody series, The Orville.
Jon Hamm
Mad Man star Jon Hamm was with actress and filmmaker Jennifer Westfeldt for almost 20 years before they split in 2015. Explaining why the power couple never got hitched, Hamm told the New York Daily Times, “I don’t have the marriage chip, and neither of us has the greatest examples of marriages in our families,” Hamm shared. “But Jen is the love of my life, and we’ve already been together four times longer than my parents were married.”
And while he might not ever tie the knot, it doesn't mean he won't give romance another shot. Hamm and his new girlfriend Anna Osceola made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Academy Awards.

Simon Cowell never planned to have children but is now the happy father to Eric. Eric is to blame for the earworm “Baby Shark” getting stuck in our heads. You’re singing it now, aren’t you? The music mogul famously called marriage boring, revealing, “I think with anything in life, just let things happen rather than plan. I’m saying that all the good things that have ever happened in my life I’ve never, ever planned.”
After a long-term on-and-off relationship with English 80s pop star Sinnita and dating Dannii Minogue, the mastermind behind Britain's Got Talent, America's Got Talent and X-Factor is now engaged to Eric's mom, Lauren Silverman. But who knows if they'll ever tie the knot.
Bill Maher
Would you believe that, despite multiple relationships, Bill Maher has never found a wife? And that’s not because no one could put up with him! No, seriously, in fairness, the controversial talk show host has always been clear about the topic of marriage. Yet, while he doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage, that doesn’t mean he’s celibate. He’s been in a relationship with Canadian singer Anjulie Persaud since 2014.
Maher revealed on the Howard Stern Radio Show: “I’ve tried to have relationships. I’ve been in love. I’ve known some amazing women. But I’ve never understood how you can just be with the same person, day after day, week after week, year after year. I just don’t get that.”
Owen Wilson
Despite Owen Cunningham Wilson being the original Wedding Crasher, he's never actually tied the knot. In 2011, he and Jade Duell had a son but split up soon after. In 2014, personal trainer to the stars, Caroline Lindqvist, gave birth to Wilson's second son. Then, in 2018, his ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates gave birth to his daughter. The actor sparked controversy when he said he had no intention of meeting his newborn daughter.
In the past, Owen has dated actresses Kate Hudson and Gina Gershon and dancer Carolina Cerisola. He's also been linked with Demi Moore and Sheryl Crow.
John Cusack
John Cusack’s little black book is like a Who’s Who of Hollywood leading ladies. He’s dated––deep breath––Claire Forlani, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Neve Campbell, Janice Dickinson, Rebecca Romijn, Gina Gershon, Uma Thurman, Jami Gertz, Melissa Gilbert, Nastassja Kinski, and Minnie Driver. There were rumors he secretly married Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, but they reportedly split because he would not commit to marriage. So how come he never proposed to another of these beautiful, talented women?
A 2009 interview with Elle magazine might give us a clue. When asked why he has never married, John retorted, "Society doesn't tell me what to do!" You tell 'em, maverick!
Benicio Del Toro
He might have gathered Infinity Stones as Marvel's The Collector, but Benicio del Toro has never collected wives. That said, it's been rumored that the all-around bad-boy got hitched to Scottish rocker Sir Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly. She is, after all, the mother of his daughter, but the pair broke up before Delilah was born. When asked if he planned on ever getting married, he replied, "Why? Just so I can get divorced?" Good point, well made!
Even though Benicio has been around the block––he's been linked to Catherine Keener, Heather Graham, Chiara Mastroianni, Alicia Silverstone, and Claire Forlani in the past––he and Kimberly split parenting responsibilities right down the middle.
Norman Reedus
Now, we're not being mean, but Norman Reedus was definitely punching above his weight when he dated supermodel Helena Christensen between 1998-2003. While most men would have slapped a ring on her finger, Norman never got down on one knee. Fast forward to today, and Reedus has been in a relationship with actress Diane Kruger since the two fell in love making Sky (2015), and they now have a baby daughter together.
However, this time, it seems it's not The Walking Dead star Norman who's being non-committal. Diane Kruger doesn't believe in marriage, and the couple has no plans to tie the knot in the immediate future.
